The extrusion is a wet granulation technique. It is a method of applying pressure to a wet mass until it flows through an orifice.
It is a technique that determines the two dimensions of an agglomeration of particles. The cross-sectional shape is set by the hole. The only measurement variable is the length of the extrude. This step is the most important one for determining the end particle size of the pellets. The hole diameter of the screen directly controls the diameter of the extrudes. In this process the wet mass is passed through the mesh to form cylindrical extrudes of uniform diameter.

Operates on a ‘first in, first out’ principle with no stagnant areas, ensuring minimal product hold-up—only a few grams at the end of a run.
Features concentric rotors that counter-rotate within a cylindrical screen. The inner rotor (feeder) distributes the wet mass into cavities between blades on the outer rotor (Pressing Cam), generating consistent pressure.
Blades on the outer rotor create a continuous wave of pressure, efficiently processing the material as they sweep across the screen’s inner surface.
Can be equipped with various screens of different hole diameters and wall thicknesses for customized processing (0.4mm-3mm).
The rotor’s variable speed drive allows for fine-tuning of product compaction and consistency, offering high flexibility in extrusion.
