Water Dispersible Granules

Process Line

  • Water Dispersible Granules (WDGs)
  • also known as Water Soluble Granules
  • provide significant advantages over liquid formulations.
  • These granules are solid and non-dusty / dispersing or dissolving quickly in water to form a fine / easily manageable suspension.
  • This makes them safer and easier to handle and store.
  • WDGs deliver active ingredients effectively to their target allowing for highly concentrated formulations that are wettable and quickly disintegrate upon contact with water. Compared to wettable powders (WPs) WDGs produce less dust - making them a more user-friendly option.

Detailed Information on Water Dispersible Granules

Water Dispersible Granules (WDGs) are solid formulations that dissolve quickly in water to create a fine, manageable suspension. The dried granules are then screened using a Shifter to ensure uniform size and blended in a Bin Blender for consistency. WDGs are user-friendly, stable, and provide effective, concentrated treatment with minimal dust, making them an efficient and safe option compared to liquid formulations and wettable powders. Key Steps in WDG: 1. Sigma Mixer: For uniform mixing of material along with the liquid. Charging port assembly to charge the liquid binder. 2. Weight Mass Dispenser: For uniformly charging the material to the basket extruder. 3. Basket Extruder: For preparing extrudes. 4. FBD/ Continuous Bed dryer: For drying extrudes. 5. Shifter: For separating the oversized, actual sized, and lower sized extrudes. 6. Bin Blender: Once multiple batches are collected, the bin blender bowl will be plugged into the blending device in order to complete the process. FEATURES Reduced Dust: WDGs produce less dust compared to wettable powders, making them safer and more user-friendly. Quick Dissolution: They dissolve rapidly in water, forming a fine suspension that is easy to handle. Highly Concentrated: WDGs allow for the delivery of active ingredients in highly concentrated formulations. Stable and Safe: Being solid and non-dusty, WDGs are easier to store and handle, enhancing safety. Efficient Application: The fine suspension created by WDGs ensures effective delivery of the active ingredients to their target. PERKS 1. Quick Dissolution: WDGs dissolve rapidly in water, forming a fine suspension that is easy to manage and apply. 2. Dust-Free Handling: Unlike wettable powders, WDGs produce minimal dust, reducing the risk of inhalation and making them safer to handle. 3. Concentrated Formulations: WDGs allow for highly concentrated formulations, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the active ingredients. 4. User-Friendly Storage: The solid, non-dusty nature of WDGs makes them easier to store and handle compared to liquid formulations. 5. Effective Target Delivery: WDGs provide precise delivery of active ingredients to the target area, ensuring effective and uniform application.

FAQs on Water Dispersible Granules

Water Dispersible Granules (WDGs) are dust-free solid formulations that rapidly disperse or dissolve in water to form a uniform suspension. They are widely used in agrochemical, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries due to their ease of handling, storage, and application.

WDGs generate significantly less dust, offer improved operator safety, provide easier storage and transportation, reduce product loss, and disperse quickly in water while maintaining excellent suspension stability.

An integrated Granulation Line reduces material handling, minimizes contamination risks, improves process control, shortens production cycles, and delivers consistent granule quality while reducing overall operating costs.

WDGs are commonly used in agrochemicals, crop protection products, fertilizers, specialty chemicals, and other applications requiring concentrated active ingredients in a user-friendly granular form.

Yes. The WDG production line can be customized according to product characteristics, process requirements, and desired output capacities, ranging from pilot-scale production to large-scale commercial manufacturing.
